I took the afternoon off yesterday. The weather was warmish, which was good, but it was mostly cloudy, and sprinkled on and off throughout the day. The weather didn't really bother me however, since I had long list of errands to complete.
Yeah, it was a strange day. Sort of a cross between a scavenger's hunt and an episode of The Amazing Race.
Here's the list I was working from:
Task 1:
Meet friends for lunch.
Task 2:
Go home, exchange vehicles. Proceed to yard waste disposal area of the local dump, and empty eight large bags of leaves.
Task 3:
Go to post office and mail bills.
Task 4:
Stop at store to purchase a new memo board.
Task 5:
Return home to pick up other vehicle. Go to the Department of Motor Vehicles, stand in line and eventually obtain a replacement title for the Mazda 626 (did I mention it's For Sale?).
Task 6:
Go the Dr. to renew prescriptions.
Task 7:
Purchase as many bags of mulch as will comfortably fit in the Honda Civic. (In case you're wondering, that number is four -- probably should have done this before I changed vehicles.)
Task 8:
Return home to distribute said mulch in the garden, and calculate the number of additional bags required. (About three more trips in the Civic should cover it -- maybe one trip in the Mazda.)
Task 9:
Ask a friend to borrow a pickup truck. Go with him to Kmart and pick up the heaviest "knocked-down" china cabinet ever produced by the hands of man.
Task 10:
Help friend unload the enormous box containing the cabinet. Then unload the numerous cabinet pieces one-by-one, because the box wasn't designed to fit through anything other than the front door of a Kmart store.
Task 11:
Go with friend to return truck.
Task 12:
Drink a beer.
Task 13:
Repeat Task 12.
Tonight's task? Cabinet assembly -- during which I may revisit Tasks 12 and 13.

If you were being truly honest in reporting on your list of tasks, the words "drink a beer" would be following every one of those task numbers. In future reporting, please be truthful ma'am--there are no judgers here.
