The eyes have it!

I'm experiencing some sort of eye condition. My right eye has not been "quite right" for three days now. The upper lid of said eye is red and swollen. It's also itchy, watery and as of today, a little goopy.

I Googled my symptoms and the general consensus seemed to indicate that I may have pink-eye. But the thing is, the actual eyeball isn't red. Just the lid. Besides which, I can't think where I would have been exposed to pink-eye. I continued my internet search and came across a couple other possible explanations. A stye... but I can't see one. Allergies... I definitely have them, but wouldn't both eyes be puffy? Then I found an entry that said my symptoms could be caused by a sinus infection. Hmm, that's a little more up my ailment alley, so to speak. And actually, the sinus eye connection rings a bell.

Yeah, now that I think about it, I remember a time a number of years ago when I was at work with a cold. I was doing my best to manage my nasal secretions, but was caught off-guard when during the course of a 45 minute meeting, my right eye managed to extrude, Playdoh Pumper style, an inch long column of goop, later identified as sinus snot. Of course nobody mentioned it to me as it was happening. So of course I was horrified when I got back to my cube, and immediately made an appointment with my ENT who prescribed an antibiotic.

Ahh, the good old days when I had health insurance... and a job. Given my current economic condition, I think I'll give my goopy eye condition a healthy dose of "wait and see."

Donna! OMG. When I read the title of this post and the first sentence, all I could think to myself was "Remember when Donna had that weird sinus thing going on and she pushed under her eye and stuff came squirting out like spray cheese on a Ritz cracker??!?!?!"

Crying.
