Did I hear it because it didn't fall in the forest?

OMG! Last night as I was blogging about the branch that fell in my backyard, I heard a big cracking sound. Big enough that it made me go outside and look around. At which point I noticed that a GIANT branch had fallen off my neighbors' tree, and onto their driveway.

Unfortunately, I was the only one that heard it. Which seemed odd, until I saw that it was after 12:00 am. A time when people with kids, lives and/or jobs would be asleep.

Yikes! I was at a complete loss about what to do! I don't really know them, but was I supposed to wake them up and tell them about the branch? Or maybe call the non-emergency police number? Uggh! Seriously, I didn't have a clue.

Clearly, I needed some advice! So I sent my friend, the one most likely to be up and awake at such an hour, a text. He said I shouldn't worry about the branch because they'd find it in the morning. He also said I should go to the bar and have a drink.

Advice from a neutral party is usually the best, so I followed his on both counts.
