Past the national pastime

OMG! I was just going to post a sarcastic comment along the lines of, "wow, is the World Series over already?" With the "wit" of the comment being that the baseball season in general and the World Series more specifically goes on for such an unbelievably long time.

So imagine my surprise when I realized that, as of tonight (Saturday Oct. 27), the World Series isn't over! In fact, there's a game being played right now!

And this from a country whose collective attention span is purported to be too short for soccer to ever gain a significant foothold. Keeping in mind that a soccer match is never much more than 90 minutes, and the World Series has been going on for a good 18 weeks now. Okay to be fair that's comparing apples to oranges, and furthermore I exaggerated when I said the World Series has been going on for 18 weeks. It only seems like 18, but has actually been going on for something closer 16 weeks.

Conclusion: I'm sick of baseball and still somewhat annoyed that I can't find a womens Manchester United shirt in the United States.

I second that - but now the Series is wrapped up, and we can enjoy at least a month of baseball-free ESPN coverage until they start talking about spring training.

PS - I dig the new blog look!

As for the women's Man Utd shirt...will see what Mom & Dad can find and bring with them for Xmas. With a bit of luck, they might find something over there!
