Hair apparent

My hair is shorter on one side of my head than it is on the other side. This irritates me more than it probably should, but it does.

I’m also irritated by the fact that my hair stylist cuts it that way on purpose. You see, I part my hair on the left, but she cuts as if I parted it in the middle. It’s her contention that my hair actually IS the same length of both sides, but it LOOKS shorter on the right because I part it on the left.

Personally, I think I’d rather have hair that LOOKS even the way I wear it, instead of hair that would have to be combed out and parted differently in order to prove its symmetry.
