Cut me some slack(er)

I had my hair cut, high- and low-lighted on Tuesday night.

For whatever reason, it seems like I can't get a good hair cut and color job at the same time. If the cut is precise and lays just right, then the color is too bright or uneven. If the color is on target, then I'm left with uneven chunks that need additional trimming.

Maybe getting them both right is too much to expect from one person on the same night. These appointments take like 3 hours or something (possible exaggeration), so I can see how a person might get distracted, and veer a off course a bit. I should probably make two different appointments so that the stylist could focus on one thing or the other.

I'm also bummed because Redken stopped making the styling product that I had been using. So in a way, it's not a surprise that my hair isn't laying correctly. I'm trying new stuff, but it doesn't work. Well, it smoothes and defrizzes okay, but it doesn't provide a lick of holding power.

Hopefully, I'll be able to stop by tonight to pick up some different product and ask my stylist to even out my cut. The thing is, I waited four weeks for the appointment (not an exaggeration) in the first place, and another half hour on top of that, because she was running late when I got there. Now I'll have to make another trip!

And you wonder why I don't get more done! For instance, why it took me until yesterday to take down my Christmas tree and inside decorations (sadly, not an exaggeration). Or why, I haven't folded laundry in 10 weeks (slight exaggeration). Well, it's this kind of stuff!

Well, that and my general motivation level as of late. Yep, not a lick of holding power there either.
