Bowling Green

So, I got talked into joining a bowling team. Kind of funny when you consider the fact that up until two weeks ago, I could count the number of times I'd actually been bowling on two hands. Our team has played twice, so I guess I'm up to two hands and a foot now.

At any rate, I'm not well versed in bowling etiquette. So my first night on the team, I was worried about things like where I could walk, where I should put my stuff and most importantly, when I should throw the ball! I was concerned that I might inadvertently upset some of the more seasoned players, or screw up someone's perfect game or something.

With that in mind, you can imagine my horror when one of my team mates pointed toward the other side of the bowling alley and said, "can you believe all the fights in that game? They've already thrown two people out!"

My first thought was that another "first timer" violated some rule, regulation or secret tradition, and was being taken to task for their error. And if that was the case, I was certainly going to get my @ss kicked before the night was over!

Turns out she was pointing at at TV. Apparently, they show football on Monday nights too . . .
