Okay, I'm having a work emergency, so I'm a little short on time. In lieu of an actual post, please enjoy this complaint letter I sent to The Gap. I saved it for some reason, and was reminded of it because I ended up wearing a pair of the pants I was complaining about today -- I passed them off as capri pants.
To whom it may concern:
I'm writing to comment (complain I guess) about your Clean Cut khakis. I have purchased two pair, one tan and one olive green, both women's size 6A. I tried these on at the store, and when purchased both pair fit fine.
However, after owning (and washing) them for less than two months, both pair are now too short! Yeah, like a full 2.5 inches shorter than when I bought them. Since I'm only 5'2" tall, you might imagine that I'd be surprised to end up with pants that are actually too short—especially since I didn't purchase them that way.
I guess in the future, I should buy the longer size that doesn't fit, and wash them until they do fit. In the meantime, I'm stuck with two pair of pants that I can't wear. I have a number of your Boot Cut pants, khaki flare legs and some of your jeans, and have never had a problem with any of them changing length. This of course leads me to believe that your Clean Cut khakis have an inherent design flaw.
At this point I feel it would be fair for the Gap to take my "too short" pants back in exchange for some "too long" pants, as at least there is some hope that the "too long" pants will fit in the future.
Best regards,
Donna
