An ounce of prevention...

Yeah, yeah, I'm alive-- I just haven't posted in a while.

That said, I have had more than my fair share of ailments this year. I got through January just fine, but February brought a nasty case of the flu that kept me in bed for three days -- not hanging out on the couch, IN BED. Not good. I thought I'd paid my dues with that one, but apparently the flu left enough snot in the tiny crevices of my head to develop into a full blown sinus infection three weeks later. Seriously uncool!

I finished my last antibiotic Sunday and I do feel a lot better -- unjustifiably exhausted, but a lot better. My biggest complaint now is the giant canker sore that developed on my gums. Yeah, I know it's not a big deal. The only reason I mention it is because I thought you might enjoy the following home remedy:

Just take a little earwax from your ear and apply it to the canker sore. It's said to be a sure cure. It may have some antiseptic value, and it may protect the sore.

Damn! Now I wish I hadn't used this home remedy:

If you have impacted earwax, a stool softener might sit well with you. Try using Colace, a stool softener found in most drugstores, suggests Dr. Cass. Using an eyedropper, put a couple of drops of liquid Colace in each ear. You can leave it there from a few minutes to an hour or two (depending on how stubborn the wax is), then irrigate your ears with water.

Now I can listen to all y'all talk crap, but still have a canker sore.
