iCrib Sound System
This is basically an iPod speaker system that attaches to the side of a baby's crib. The copy says "...this compact sound system delivers customized music from your MP3 player to soothe your baby to sleep." Personally I can't believe they didn't use, "now you can Rock your baby to sleep!" as a subhead or something, but I digress.
Apparently, the less than intuitive strategy here is to bring delicate and obscenely expensive electronic devices CLOSER to your baby, as opposed to storing them up, out of baby's reach.
Hmm, call me paranoid but the very existence of this product makes me suspect that Apple has a secret, accelerated-deterioration division. After designing the soon-to-be-released iChew for dogs, they decided to come up with a product for the second most destructive group of home dwellers-- small children.
Sure, the iCrib encases your iPod in plastic, but I fear the protection offered would be somewhat akin to the protection that a rodent in a hamster ball would enjoy rolling around inside a room full of cats.
If nothing else, the iCrib will almost certainly give new parents the chance to use the phrase, "we just can't have nice things!" earlier than parents not using the iCrib.
If I had to guess, I'd say up to a full year earlier!
