Police seek suspect in assault

JANESVILLE — Local police are looking for leads in the investigation of an aggravated assault and attempted robbery Oct. 16 in the 100 block of South Academy Street in Janesville.

The suspect confronted a 44-year-old Janesville man and tried to take the man’s cell phone at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16. The assailant clobbered the victim in the back of the head with a 2-by-4 board. The victim was treated and released at Mercy Hospital in Janesville.
