It's no secret to anyone that knows me well, but I have a terrible sense of direction. This causes me to get lost a lot-- as in nearly every day, sometimes several times a day.
This wasn't the case when I went to work at the same place on a regular basis. Unfortunately, substitute teaching is fraught with opportunities to get lost. Finding the actual school can be a challenge in itself. But more often than not, the real problems begin inside. No two schools have the same floor plan. So I'm forced to navigate a different, maze-like network of hallways and stairways for each and every school. This does not play to my strong points. And the fact that it goes on in the morning before I've finished my first cup of coffee, makes it that much worse.
Theoretically, signs could help... unless they're wrong! Which brings me to the signs shown here. Based on the information provided by these signs, would you go down the hallway on A) the right, or B) the left, to get to room 209?
When I was late and rushing to class this morning I guessed, A) the right. Which oddly enough, turned out to be WRONG!
Yeah. At the school in question, room 209 is down the hallway on the left. Why is this the case? I'd tell you if I knew. Unfortunately, the explanation is lost to me.
