If you ask me, there are too many dead bodies shown on TV.
I understand that a certain a number of dead bodies are bound to show up on shows built around the investigation of crime and suspicious death, but I don't understand why we need to see so many of them so close. In the old days, they'd show a clothed body on the ground lying inside a chalk line. But now days, it's not uncommon to see very close shots of (simulated) bodies that have been dismembered, burned by fire or acid, submerged in water and/or partially consumed by bugs.
This is particularly bothersome to me because I often eat dinner while watching TV. Thanks to network television, I'm painfully aware of the fact that some decomposing bodies look remarkably similar to certain Weight Watchers frozen dinner entrees. This is bad for the appetite. Although coming from a person eating Weight Watchers dinners in the first place, I suppose this is a bit of an ironic complaint.
Maybe the answer is to decrease the number of crime shows that are being shown. It seems like the "initial" shows (CSI, NCIS, SVU, WTF) are the worst. This isn't to say that I'd rather see more reality shows on TV. On the contrary, I really wish the whole lot of them would disappear forever. Unfortunately, this isn't likely to happen until one of the Survivor contestants gets dragged away by a crocodile, or swallowed whole by a great white shark.
I imagine something like that would throw the nation into a state of shock and dismay the likes of which have never been seen before! Especially the programing executives, who would no doubt be disappointed because they didn't end up with a dead body to show at the end of it all.

Or you could just play a stupid Journey song, make some onion rings instead of Weight Watchers meals, and turn the screen black.
