Good things come to those who Wait, Wait...

You may remember that I was looking for tickets to an episode of the NPR show "Wait, Wait...Don't Tell Me" that was being taped very near my house. In spite of my blog plea, Craigslist post, newspaper search and almost nonstop whining, I didn't find any tickets. No matter where I looked, there just weren't any.

It seemed completely hopeless, but even so, a friend and I decided to go and see if we could scalp tickets. Apparently, one of the no doubt many ways that National Public Radio events differ from sporting events, is that there aren't hoards of people buying and selling tickets outside.

Alas, bolstered by our "nothing to lose" situation, we went straight to a table where people were picking up reserved tickets and asked (assuming we'd get 'no' for answer) if there were any tickets available. Long story short, we not only got tickets, but ended up sitting a mere six rows from the front in an aisle that had been reserved for Board of Regents personnel!

The show was awesome! And the icing on the cake is that we were able to meet and get autographs from all of the following:
Peter Sagal, Carl Kasell, Roy Blount, Jr., Charles Pierce, Paula Poundstone. Too cool!!

My friend took pictures, but I couldn't wait to share, so I posted my signed program here for all of you to see.
