Not a leg to stand on...

I ran over a lady's patio table on the way to work this morning. Part of it anyway.

Now before you start casting aspersions about my driving abilities or lack thereof, let me say that the table wasn't in her yard at the time. On the contrary, it was in the middle of the road.

And to be fair, I hadn't had my morning coffee yet. So really, when you take into account the fact that the lady was also in the middle of the road, I think you'll agree things could have gone much worse for everyone involved.

The lady in question was hauling a bunch of green plastic patio tables in a trailer. You know, the kind that match those plastic chairs you see everywhere. Whether for increased portability, or manufacturing ease, the legs come off those tables fairly easily. I think it was a leg that I ran over. It must have flown out of the trailer, and onto the road where it made unfortunate contact with the tires of my car. I didn't stop to look, but considering the plastic nature of said leg, I have to think that it didn't fare well. Further, I have to assume that the damage inflicted on the leg seriously compromised the useful life of the table to which it belonged.
